Rosehill Cemetery Crypt 5K Run & Walk

Rosehill Cemetery Crypt 5K Run & Walk

Date: Saturday night, September 28
Time: 7:00 p.m. Start
Location: Rosehill Cemetery (5800 N. Ravenswood Ave. -- just north of Bryn Mawr) | Chicago
Beneficiary: American Diabetes Association
You can be cool (and it's OK to be a bit of a ghoul) at this exciting, 2nd annual fall/pre-Halloween 5K on the grounds of the north side's historic Rosehill Cemetery! Run or walk on the sprawling 350-acre Victorian-era cemetery that opened in 1864. It's by far the largest cemetery in the City of Chicago (and second largest in Illinois).

Moats! Monuments! Scenic paths! And then there's the eternal spirits who reside in Rosehill. Among them: more than 10 Chicago mayors, Oscar Mayer, John G. Shedd, Cubs' announcer Jack Brickhouse, legendary adman Leo Burnett and Sears founder Julius Rosenwald, to name just a few. And don't forget the heroic Civil War vets near the entrance. (In fact, run/walk greeters will be dressed in Civil War attire!)

Chip Timing Instructions
This year's event features one of the latest in timing technology: The Chronotrack Disposable Chip! The computer chip comes attached to a plastic strip that is already adhered to your bib #. No need to wait until race day to pick up your chip - it's already on your bib when you go to a Pre-Registration/Packet Pick-Up event!

The chip tag should be peeled from the bib on race day and attached to your shoelaces - adhesive tabs and your shoelaces keep the tag in place. You must cross the special mats at the start and finish lines in order for your time to be recorded.

After crossing the finish line, the tag is your's to dispose of or to keep as a souvenir of your experience at the Rosehill Cemetery Crypt 5K Run.

Download this document instructions on how to attach the tag to your shoes on race day.
